A great day panning!!

After the Perpetual Dig over the weekend, I was trying to figure out the next stop on my Gold Tour. A Kannapolis buddy suggested that I might hook up with Pappy for some prospecting. I'd met (and liked) Pappy when I met him at the Patch this past May. My buddy had his phone number and a call led to an invitation to pan in the Uwharrie NF.

It was a real treat panning with Pappy and the gold was exceptionally nice. Even though the weather was a bit messy, we scored gold and good times. What more could a prospector ask?

Pappy said he was always happy to take folks with him panning. I sure appreciated that this out-of-towner was invited. Southern hospitality is a wonderful thing!
